Project Sawubona
Project Sawubona is the primary outreach of the Ruach Global Mission Base ZA, situated in the Windermere neighborhood of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. This area highlights the contrasting realities faced by many residents. The renowned Florida Road in Windermere boasts upscale accommodations, gourmet dining, and vibrant nightlife comparable to Miami, yet just five minutes away, individuals live on the streets, grappling with hunger, despair, and hopelessness. The program is run by a dedicated team of counselors, social workers, and servant leaders focused on forming genuine connections with vulnerable women on the streets and at the mission base. Their efforts include providing daily meals at the mission base, conducting weekly evangelism outreaches, and discipleship groups, as well as offering individual counseling and case management for at-risk women. Ultimately, Project Sawubona aims to dispel darkness by sharing God's love with those in greatest need. We believe a kind smile, a listening ear, and a warm meal convey the message, "I see you."

Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter— when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
