Mission Pathways

How we discern, form, and send

Ruach Global Missions believes that mission is not an impulse but a calling that is discerned, formed, and stewarded with care. We exist to walk with believers, particularly Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, as they respond to God’s call to serve the nations.

This page outlines the pathway for those who desire to serve with Ruach Global Missions long-term (at least one year). Every step is designed to honor Scripture, protect people, and ensure that those who are sent are supported, prepared, and spiritually covered.

stepone

Discerning the Call

Mission begins with prayer and discernment. Those sensing a call to missions, ministry, leadership, or service are invited to seek the Lord and explore whether Ruach Global Missions is the right spiritual and organizational home.

At this stage, individuals may engage through prayer, conversation, or by exploring the vision and values of Ruach Global Missions and the House of Prayer. We affirm that calling can emerge in many seasons and contexts, and discernment is not rushed.

Application and Initial Review

Those who wish to move forward begin by completing an application. The application helps us understand an individual’s faith journey, sense of calling, educational background, and readiness for formation.

This step allows both the applicant and Ruach Global Missions leadership to prayerfully discern alignment. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance or deployment, but begins a relational process of discernment.

Stepthree

Formation Through  Ruach Global Missions Institute

All individuals serving with Ruach Global Missions complete training through the Ruach Global Missions Institute of Missiology and Leadership prior to deployment.

The Institute provides certificate programs in Missiology and Leadership designed for both emerging global leaders and practitioners already serving in ministry. Formation includes theological grounding, missional training, leadership development, spiritual reflection, and applied learning.

This training pathway was intentionally created to affirm BIPOC leaders and remove unnecessary barriers while maintaining biblical faithfulness and academic rigor.

Formation is not optional. It is an act of stewardship, care, and obedience.

stepfour

Commissioned Through Ruach Global Missions and HOP

Upon completion of the Institute training, missionaries are prayerfully commissioned through Ruach Global Missions and House of Prayer. Commissioning affirms spiritual covering, accountability, and alignment with the mission, values, and leadership of Ruach Global Missions.

This commissioning is rooted in prayer, discernment, and communal affirmation. Leaders are known, prayed for, and entrusted with responsibility before being sent to serve. Commissioning reflects a commitment to ongoing care, oversight, and spiritual formation throughout the duration of service.

Serve on a Mission Base

After commissioning, missionaries are sent to serve on one of Ruach Global Missions' regional mission bases. Service assignments are determined through prayerful discernment, gifting, and the needs of each location.

Mission bases currently operate in South Africa, Chile, Haiti, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United States in Columbus, Ohio.

Service opportunities may include prayer and worship, discipleship, leadership development, pastoral care, humanitarian outreach, nonprofit support, or community engagement. All service is conducted in partnership with local communities and leaders.

Ongoing Support & Oversight

Missionary service is never done in isolation. Those serving with Ruach Global Missions remain connected to Sawubona House and the broader Ruach Global Missions family.

Ongoing support includes spiritual covering, leadership care, accountability, and opportunities for renewal and reflection. We believe faithful mission requires long-term sustainability, not burnout or abandonment.

Ways to Participate

Not everyone is called to go in the same way. Ruach Global Missions affirms multiple faithful expressions of obedience.

You may be called to:

  • Train and prepare through the Institute

  • Serve on a mission base

  • Pray faithfully as part of the House of Prayer

  • Partner financially to support leaders and mission bases

Every role matters. Every act of obedience advances the mission.

Is This Pathway for You?

The Mission Pathway is for those who:

  • Sense a call to missions or leadership

  • Desire biblical and spiritual formation

  • Are willing to serve with humility and accountability

  • Believe that BIPOC believers belong fully in God’s global mission

We welcome emerging leaders, practitioners, and those discerning their next step.

Your Next Steps

If you are sensing a call to missions or leadership formation, your next step is to apply to the Ruach Global Missions Institute.

If you are still discerning, we invite you to pray with us, explore the mission, and seek the Lord’s guidance.

If you are called to partner through prayer or financial support, we welcome you to stand with us as we go together.

We Go Too because God sends His people from every nation.
We Go Too because formation matters.
We Go Too together.
